Congratulations to our Boys and Girls Varsity and JV teams on last night's race - our first slalom of the year at Heilger Huegel. Our teams took on some of the conference’s best from Divine Savior Holy Angels, Kettle Moraine, Marquette, Waukesha and the University School of Milwaukee.
Our JV Girls Red took first place and both our Varsity and JV Girls Blue teams were third last night. Our Varsity Boys team took first and our JV Boys performed well, however did not have enough boys to compete in the team division.
Tess Talbot led the charge for our Varsity Girls finishing fourth and Anna Shotola set the pace for the JV finishing first to grab gold!
For the Boys, Top 5 finishes for Varsity included Braden Patterson banging out bronze and Madoc Ferguson streaking to silver. Top 5 finishes for our JV Boys included Owen Knaus - a first year team member who grooved his way to gold! Congratulations to all our racers for their efforts on last night's course. Special THANKS to all our hard-working parents who volunteered to work the course last night: Devin Wolf as Starter, Rania Dempsey as Assistant Starter, Nick Roberts Gatekeeping, Amy Wolf on Timing, Rich Coronado Announcing and Magaly Coronado on bib collection. Also, special thanks to all the parents that signed up and brought food for the kids. And last but not least - thanks to Jen Talbot for putting up and taking down the team flag, organizing pictures, handing out bibs and lift tickets and the 100 other things she does all to make the team better. Much appreciated!
Looking forward – We have a quick turn around with a Sunday 1/12 GS Race at Crystal Ridge (formerly the Rock).
*** Sunday races start an hour earlier - therefore athletes need to be to the hill by 4pm and report for inspection by 4:30 with the race starting at 5pm.
